Tiger Residency Resort operates with the philosophy that time and patience will reward both the seroius & amateur naturalists with rich oppurtunities for wildlife viewing. The atmosphere we provide is clean and comfort with the possibilities of staying in our Resort accommodations which consists of individual cottage with open verandas set in a green garden, organic vegetable garden, full of beautiful flowers plants and vegetables. The rooms and a large dinning hall are spacious, tastefully decorated and fully equipped with modern amenities. Our staff consists of competent professionals dedicated to provide you with the necessary arrangement to make your wildlife experience a unique and memorable one.

Nepal is a home with many beautiful national parks providing shelter to an incredible variety of wild lives. Nepal’s one of the best known and most accessible national park is Royal Chitwan National Park. Established in 1973 and enlisted as a world Heritage Site by UNESCO in1984, it covers as area of 932 sq. km.

One can easily confront the pre-historic one horned rhinos, lumbering elephants, sloth bears, wild boars, 6 different cats including Royal Bengal Tiger, 4 different dear, gaurs, Marsh-mugger and Gharial crocodiles, 2 different monkeys, striped hyena and birds such as the colorful kingfishers, green parakeets, blue tailed bee-eaters and others inside the park.

Accessibility
By surface: A pleasant five hours drive by car or luxurious bus on the Kathmandu – Narayanghat highway follows the Trishuli river offering you a continually changing landscape from the mountains of the Himalayas to the plains of the Terai.
- From Kathmandu 160km. south
- From Pokhara 180km. south-east
- From Sunauli 150km. east

By raft: One of the most exciting ways to travel to the park is to raft down the Trishui River. For two or more days you can float down the river experiencing its numerous rapid and seeing a variety of voltage life, flora and fauna along its banks.

By air: Half-hour flight will bring you from Kathmandu to Bharatpur where you will be met by our staff and driven to the resort.

What to Bring

3. Insect repellent, swim wear, sun hat and sun-guard.
4. Casual and comfortable clothes and shoes for easy movement while on safaris. We suggest that the color of your clothes should blend with the natural surroundings. During the winter months, November to February, sweaters and jackets are necessary in the morning and evening to beat the cold.

Wildlife Activities

Jungle walk:
Our experienced naturalists will accompany you to the more specialized habitats. That is the ideal opportunity to explore and experience at closer quarters the beauty of the flora and fauna. The authority of the naturalist must be closely observed to obviate any risks from wildlife attacks. Jungle walk may be of 1 to 5 days depends upon curiousity of the guest.

Canoe trip:
Typical hand-made dugout canoe on either the Rapti or the Budhi Rapti River, which border the national park. There are chances to see two types of crocodiles, the Gharial and Mugger basking on the riverbank. Other wildlife, especially birds is an additional interest.

Village tour/Cultural programme:
Tharu people are the indigenous inhabitants of the Terai. We offer guided cultural tours to meet the people and experience their traditional self-sufficient way of life. At the hotel we feature Tharu folk dancing. The drummers and symbolic stick dancers perform traditional movements and invite guests to join them in this rhythmic display.

Elephant breeding center:
This is the first elephant breeding center in Asia and is situated at Royal Chitwan National Park. You can see baby elephants socializing with their parents and other babies. The center is governments’ owned and its purpose is to raise the young elephants.

Jungle drive:
A tour by four wheel drive jeep in the less disturbed areas of the park to track the rare species. You will visit Ox-bow Lake and a museum of historic interest relating to the park. These facilities inside the park are not available during the monsoon.

Bird watching:
Birds lovers will have a wonderful opportunity to se many species of birds in the early morning as the new day dawns.

Elephant back safari:
An elephant back ride is one of the safest ways to enter the jungle and see the wild life. It is an exciting never to be forgotten experience.

Bicycle tour:
During the ride we visit 20,000 lakes area, which afford a varied experience of birds and mammals.

Elephant Bath:
On the middle of the day riding on the bare back of the elephant & go to the Rapti River. Swimming and washing them is great fun to play with large mammals.

Tower Stay:
The tower is in the middle of the jungle where you can spend the whole night and feel real nature surroundings.

Crocodile Breeding Center:
Gharial crocodile is one of the endangered species of the world. To protect them, UN has established the crocodile breeding center where we product the large number of Gharials and release them in the River.
