Hotel Del Sherpa - INTRODUCTION

This region in the North-East of Nepal bordering Tibet has some of the most majestic terrain on the face of the earth. With some of the highest known settlements in the world, these fragile mountains are the setting of human drama of Nepal's one of the most famous ethnic group, the Sherpas. Here they build solid comfortable homes of stone with planked floors and shingled roofs. Dome shaped Chortens dot the village trails while monasteries cling to the cliffs. In these village of clear streams and crisp tangy mountain air, the holy peaks Numbur, Khatang and Karyolung stand in silent vigilance.

In the heart of Solu valley lies Phaplu, and in the lower slope of pine clad hills is nestled "Hotel Del Sherpa". A few hundred feet below murmurs the Solu river comming from the snow peak mountain glaciers.

Just a 5-minute stroll from the Phaplu airfield, the tourist resort is situated at an altitude of 2400m amidst a conifer pine tree forests. Built in Sherpa style with Western amenities, the rooms are furnished with wall to wall tibetan carpet and attached bathroom running cold/hot water heated by solar and backed up by electricity.
